Dentist Software: Clinical and Team Requirements
Build a dentist-led software evaluation that includes documentation, handoffs, record access and the work of the wider practice team.
At a glance
Dentist software should be evaluated from both the clinician’s chair and the team’s handoffs. Start with the information needed before, during and after a visit, then test how it moves between the clinician, assistant and front desk.
The private prototype supports saved patient profiles, scheduling, visit statuses and recall tracking. Clinical, billing, insurance, messaging and website integrations described in our roadmap are not yet available for clinical use.
Review what is available →Before the visit
Ask a vendor to assemble a fictional patient’s relevant history, scheduled work and outstanding administrative tasks. Check how a clinician identifies missing information and how the team records that it has been reviewed. Avoid judging the workflow only from a polished summary screen.
During documentation
Try an interrupted note, a corrected entry and another clinician reviewing the same record. Measure the steps involved without assuming that fewer clicks compensate for unclear authorship or missing history. Include assistants and hygienists when defining who performs each task.
At the handoff
Follow planned work to the appointment and financial teams. Ask how changed recommendations reach reception, how unanswered patient questions are tracked and which details can be exported. Keep clinical responsibility separate from administrative convenience.
What we can demonstrate
Our prototype demonstrates saved patient profiles, appointments, statuses and recalls with fictional data. Clinical notes, odontograms, treatment plans and clinical sign-off are still planned. Bring a workflow description, rather than a patient record, to an early-access discussion.
