Dental Patient Portal Evaluation Guide
Compare patient portal identity checks, family access, documents, messages and account recovery. Verify each workflow before offering patient access.
At a glance
A dental patient portal gives authorized patients or caregivers access to selected practice services and information. Evaluate identity verification, permission boundaries and account recovery as carefully as the list of convenient features.
The private prototype supports saved patient profiles, scheduling, visit statuses and recall tracking. Clinical, billing, insurance, messaging and website integrations described in our roadmap are not yet available for clinical use.
Review what is available →Map who can see what
Use fictional adult, child and caregiver scenarios. Ask how the system distinguishes a billing contact from someone allowed to view a record. Changes in family relationships or access permissions should be demonstrable, including what a removed user can no longer see.
Test routine self-service
Walk through confirming an appointment, retrieving a document and updating contact details. Identify which changes require staff review and how the patient sees their status. Ask how the practice supports people who cannot use the portal or do not want an account.
Patient access is not released
Our private prototype is a development workspace for fictional information. It has no released patient portal, family-access model or patient account-recovery workflow.
Common questions
Is a mobile-friendly website a patient portal?
No. A portal needs authenticated access and permissions for specific information and tasks. A responsive public page alone does not provide that.
