Periodontal charting software records examination measurements and observations over time. A software evaluation should check completeness, entry corrections and comparison views; interpretation and care decisions remain the responsibility of qualified clinicians.
The private prototype supports saved patient profiles, scheduling, visit statuses and recall tracking. Clinical, billing, insurance, messaging and website integrations described in our roadmap are not yet available for clinical use.

Ask a vendor to demonstrate the exact entry order the team uses with fictional measurements. Test keyboard navigation, skipped fields and a correction to the wrong site. Confirm that the interface clearly identifies the patient, examination date and location of each value.
Compare examinations with context
Review two fictional examinations, including a changed measurement and an incomplete area. Check how missing values differ from zero and whether a correction is traceable. A visual trend should retain the underlying dated observations rather than replace them with a summary score.
Verify optional input methods
If voice input is offered, request a demonstration in realistic operatory conditions. Ask how staff confirm recognition, recover from interruptions and correct mistakes before signing. Do not assume that a voice-ready label means a specific microphone or workflow is supported.
Current product scope
Periodontal charting and clinical measurements are not available in our current prototype. Early access is limited to administrative patient and scheduling workflows using fictional information.
Common questions
Should blank measurements be treated as zero?
Ask the vendor how it distinguishes missing, not applicable and recorded values. Your clinical team should approve those conventions and the resulting exports.
