Digital Odontogram Software: What to Evaluate
Compare digital dental chart requirements: tooth notation, surfaces, existing conditions, planned work, history and exports. Clinical charting is not yet released.

A digital odontogram organizes tooth-specific conditions and treatment in a visual dental chart. Evaluate notation, surfaces, dates and status separately so that existing findings, planned treatment and completed work cannot be confused.
The private prototype supports saved patient profiles, scheduling, visit statuses and recall tracking. Clinical, billing, insurance, messaging and website integrations described in our roadmap are not yet available for clinical use.

Ask the vendor which tooth-numbering conventions and dentitions the product supports. Use a fictional case containing missing teeth, existing restorations and planned treatment. Check that symbols remain understandable in print, on smaller screens and for users who cannot distinguish the chosen colors.
Test history rather than just entry speed
Enter a finding, amend it and complete related work at a later visit. Confirm that the chart preserves the sequence and the responsible author. Ask how a reviewer distinguishes a historical condition from the current view without overwriting earlier observations.
Check the export boundary
A chart screenshot is not equivalent to structured tooth and surface data. Request examples of both the visual record and the underlying export fields. During migration planning, list any symbols or codes that do not map directly and assign clinical review of those exceptions.
Availability
Odontogram functionality is not yet implemented in the private dental prototype. This guide is a requirements checklist for evaluating charting systems; it is not a clinical charting demonstration or treatment recommendation.
Common questions
Is a chart image sufficient for migration?
It may preserve appearance, but not searchable structured fields. Ask separately about tooth identifiers, surfaces, statuses, authors and dates.
